About Dr. Lord

Dr. Lord attended the University of Texas at Austin, and majored in psychology with a minor emphasis in zoology. Following completion of his undergraduate degree, medical training began immediately afterwards at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Lord enjoyed psychiatric training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following successful completion of that training program, he returned to Texas in order to pursue post-graduate fellowship training in two different psychiatric sub-specialties: forensic and addiction psychiatry. Both programs were offered at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Upon successful completion of those training programs, Dr. Lord began his career with a mixture of public and private mental health care as well as forensic psychiatry evaluations in Dallas County criminal courts.

Dr. Lord relocated to Charlotte from Dallas in the summer of 2006, and worked for one year for Carolinas Medical Center at the psychiatric hospital on 501 Billingsley Road. Following that, he established his current clinical practice. Presently, Dr. Lord consults with the Dilworth Center for Chemical Dependency and sees patients for private consultations in his office on 7th Street. In addition, Dr. Lord devotes a portion of his clinical practice to forensic consultations in civil and criminal matters.
